Why This Site Exists
Virginia makes many jail, court, and inmate-record materials available through public offices, but the right source depends on who holds the record. Russell County does not run a standalone public jail roster. Current local custody usually routes through the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority roster, while state prisoners, supervisees, and CCAP participants are searched through the Virginia Department of Corrections. Federal and immigration detainees use still different locators. This site organizes those public paths without claiming to be the agency that creates or maintains the records.
